This weblog is dedicated to Dr. Masaud Jahromi, who is the Head of Telecommunications Engineering Department at Ahlia University of Bahrain.
He was abducted by the Bahraini / Saudi Security Forces, in the early hours of 14th April 2011 from his home, where he was resting with his wife and 8 year old son. He has since been taken to an unknown place without any news of his wellbeing. He is one of the few if not the most senior academics who has been abducted by the Bahraini regime.
Dr Jahromi is a very well respected and widely appreciated academic in Bahraini society. He is a man who has dedicated his life to learning and teaching. He gained his Masters in the UK at the University of Manchester, and later earned his doctorate from the University of Kent in Canterbury.
His family, students and colleagues are very concerned about his wellbeing, having been kept in the dark about why he was imprisoned and where he is being held.
He has not contacted anyone regarding where he is being detained, and he does not have access to lawyers.
We demand the immediate release of Dr Masaud and all the rest of the Bahraini people who are illegitimately captured and tortured.
